Letter, 1844 Sep. 10, New York. Greeley notes his busy schedule as daily editor. He discusses the Cause of Association, mentioning Brook Farm and the Northampton, [Mass.] community. He also wishes Grant success in his experiment and notes that the Phalanx will become a monthly publication. -- Letter, 1870 Sep. 12, New York Tribune, N.Y. Greeley writes that he has received Grant's letters, but not his "manuscript for the pamphlet." -- Letter, 1870 Sep. 16, New York Tribune, N.Y. Greeley asks Grant to tell him how he sent his manuscript ("by express" or "by mail"), so that Greeley may know where to look for it. -- Letter, 1870 Nov. 4, New York Tribune, N.Y. Greeley tells Grant that the copy for his pamphlet is "in composition" at the printer's. -- Letter, Dec. 11, 1870, New York Tribune, N. Y. Greeley discusses details of the printing being done for Grant. Greeley regrets that he does not have time to visit Grant in Canton but hopes to see him in Akron. -- Letter, 1872 May 27, New York Tribune, New York. Greeley asks Grant to meet him at the Tribune office on the 29th. -- Letter, 1871 Feb. 20, New York Tribune, N.Y. from a Tribune staff member, telling Grant that 15 copies of his pamphlet have been sent to Robert Clark & Co. of Cincinnati. Horace Greeley (February 3, 1811 – November 29, 1872) was an American newspaper editor and publisher who was the founder and editor of the New-York Tribune, among the great newspapers of its time. Long active in politics, he served briefly as a congressman from New York, and was the unsuccessful candidate of the new Liberal Republican party in the 1872 presidential election against incumbent President Ulysses S.
